Abstract Linear Background

Craig started square dancing in 1962 and began his square dance calling career in 1969.


Following his retirement from the US Postal Service in the fall of 2002, Craig expanded his 53-year calling calling career by developing a full-time calling program.

Craig is currently calling over 193 nights a year across the United States and Canada.  Craig resides in the state of Oregon where he maintains a home program that ranges from Mainstream all the way through A2 and cues Round Dances Phase 2 thru 4 and.  Craig also calls for One Night Party Hoedown Dances some which are annual events.  Craig is club caller for the following clubs:

        R Square D, Longview-Kelso, WA

        St Helens Squares, St Helens, OR

        Valley Squares, Beaverton, OR

Craig is an accredited member of CALLERLAB and is ASCAP/BMI and SESAC licensed.  Craig is Past President of the North Willamette Callers & Cuers Association.  2020-21 WA State Footnotes Magazine Square Dance Editor.

Craig has recorded on Rawhide-Buckskin and Cascade Records.

Craig has been Caller Schedule Programmer for the following Square Dance Festivals, 1994-Vice Chairman, Square Dance Programmer, 2007- USA West Convention, Pocatello, ID and, 2016- WA State Festival, Longview, WA.

Craig was the Featured Caller in 2022 for Montana's 51st State Festival in East Helena, MT.  Craig in 2017, was the Featured Caller/Keynote Speaker at Washington State 49th Education & Leadership Seminar at Circle 8 Square Dance Ranch, Cle Elm, WA. Craig is on Staff at Yakima Spring Sashay an Annual Weekend as a member of the Front Porch Trio (Craig, Adam Christman and Jim Hattrick).  Craig has also called   for individual clubs, weekends and festivals having called at National, State and Area functions and, would love to call for your function as well.

Craig's love of calling is evident by his enthusiasm displayed behind the mike.   He believes Square Dancing should be "FUN", no matter what level is being called.  Craig's motto is - "If it's not Fun, I will not do it!
